Engine Block Heaters For Portable Diesel Generators

Portable Diesel Generators can run on several different types of fuel. Diesel fuel is popular for larger, commercial generators. They tend to be dependable and somewhat cheaper to operate than generators that run on natural gas or propane. They do require deliveries of diesel fuel and a tank to hold it, and while they've cleaned up their act considerably in recent years, portable diesel generators are still not as clean-burning as other types. Standby generators can also run on natural gas or propane. The primary advantage of this is that no fuel storage is required - the portable diesel generator is simply connected to utility lines and draws fuel when it needs to. The choice between gas and propane is based solely on which is available in your area. For pportable diesel generators, the most common choice for fuel is gasoline. However, the major drawback is that gasoline can't be stored for very long, so if you intend to keep a portable diesel generator around for emergencies, you may want to consider propane instead. In no circumstances should you run a portable diesel generator indoors: they produce dangerous fumes and cause serious health problems or even death.

Dear Sir,

Some months ago I purchased a sump heater from you. I can tell you its fantastic. I live in Western Australia in the wheat belt where in winter the temp drops only to -3 but the oil in my engine is nice & warm, The engine heats to op temp so much faster now saving me lots of $$$$ on petrol i.e. running a rich mixture to op temp. The EFI unit only puts in the fuel required so the faster warm-up the more fuel I save. Great product & thanks a lot...
