Cold Engine Start

Starting a car with a cold engine can be very difficult sometimes and it can become a real obstacle for those who live surrounded by extremely cold weathers. This way, for all those who might experience this problem it is not only important to learn how to overcome cold engine start but also why it happens in order to be able to prevent it as much as possible as well.

Cold engines might experience problems at the time to start due to different reasons. One of these reasons can be based on the effect which cold has on liquids evaporation. When it is cold, gasoline evaporates less and this cause it to be more difficult to burn due to the fact that it is burnt when it is evaporated.

Another reason by which a cold engine starts might have problems is caused by the fact that oil becomes much thicker in cold than the way it is in hot. Oil, like any other liquid changes its consistency when it is exposed to very low temperatures as well as it changes back when it is in a very hot weather, and this might cause oil to have problems at the time of circulating in the car engine.

You probably know that cold pancake syrup or honey from the refrigerator is a lot thicker than hot syrup or honey. Oil does the same thing. So when you try to start a cold engine, the engine has to push around the cold, gooey oil and that makes it harder for the engine to spin. In really cold places people must use synthetic motor oils because these oils stay liquid in cold temperatures.

A Wolverine Engine Oil Heater will heat up and thin out your oil for quick starts in cold weather reducing wear and tear on the engine thus eliminating the troublesome engine cold start.

Dear Sir,

Some months ago I purchased a sump heater from you. I can tell you its fantastic. I live in Western Australia in the wheat belt where in winter the temp drops only to -3 but the oil in my engine is nice & warm, The engine heats to op temp so much faster now saving me lots of $$$$ on petrol i.e. running a rich mixture to op temp. The EFI unit only puts in the fuel required so the faster warm-up the more fuel I save. Great product & thanks a lot...
